See below the Frequently Asked Questions.
Right after assembly?
• Check that the vehicle has not been idle for a long time, or that the hoses are disconnected.
• Check for any restriction / obstruction in the exhauster engine breather, oil drain lines, air filter, and compressor air ducts.
• Look for air leaks in all piping, intercooler, inlet and exhaust manifolds.
• Check that the part cover has been removed.
After some time of use?
• Check for any restriction / obstruction in the exhauster, engine breather, oil drain lines, air filter, and compressor air ducts.
• Look for air leaks in all piping, intercooler, inlet and exhaust manifolds.
• Engine internal parts worn, causing particles to be released, and causing the engine to 'blow'.
White smoke occurs when there is burning motor oil, hence:
• Check for oil coming from the head of the engine, or leaking at some gasket.
• Restriction in the oil return, exhauster, engine breather.
The engine producing blue / black smoke points to problems in the injection, hence:
• Check for problems with injector nozzles, fuel pump and electronic diagnosis on the vehicle for changes or problems recorded in the injection module.
• Check for obstruction or restriction in the following components: air filter, compressor air intake and exhaust ducts, inlet and exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipe, catalytic converters and dampers.
• Check for leaks in compressor air ducts, inlet and exhaust manifolds, exhauster.
The sound emitted by the BIAGIO parts differ from an original, this due to the changes of geometry to obtain a greater efficiency in all the ranges of rotation, in any case the sound emitted cannot bother the crew of the vehicle, therefore:
• Check for possible air leaks in the ducts surrounding the compressor and in the intake manifold, intercooler, hoses and cable ties.
• Check that the air filter is not obstructed.
When a turbo has clearance (looseness), it is already out of use, and for a conclusive analysis of what has caused such a defect, the part must be disassembled and its internal components analyzed (shaft, radial and axial bearings, thrust washer, collar, and flange).
• Lubrication deficiency, oil impurity, incorrect installation / application, foreign body ingestion on both sides, lubricating oil out of use conditions.
In this situation the part needs to be disassembled and its internal components analyzed (shaft, radial and axial bearings, thrust washer, collar and flange).
• Lubrication deficiency, oil impurity, incorrect installation / application, foreign body ingestion on both sides, lubricating oil out of use conditions.
With the passage of oil through the turbine, possibly, the vehicle will also exhibit excess white smoke.
• Check for restrictions and / or obstructions in the oil return (never use glue on joints, it causes such restrictions).
• Internal engine problems, as well as high wear on internal parts ('blowing' motor).
Normally connected to airflow restriction:
• Check for obstruction or restriction in the following components: air filter, compressor air intake and exhaust ducts, inlet and exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipe, catalytic converters and dampers.
• Check for leaks in compressor air ducts, inlet and exhaust manifolds,
• Check the injection system and the valve control,
 • Check the integrity of the internal components of the engine, such as: pistons, cylinder liners, and valve seals.
If your part is valved, a small modification on the valve pressure, authorized by the service center, can solve the problem. If the part does not have a valve:
• Check for obstruction or restriction in the following components: air filter, compressor air intake and exhaust ducts, inlet and exhaust manifolds, exhaust pipe, catalytic converters and dampers.
• Check for leaks in compressor air ducts, inlet and exhaust manifolds, exhauster.
Leaks in the compressor housing are usually connected to the integrity of the O-ring that accompanies the assembly.
• In case of emergency, this O-ring can be replaced, with factory authorization, by another O-ring or by silicone glues, with a subtle application preventing it from flowing into the volute of the compressor.
